Yeah we are all dying for cheaper gas [/sarcasm]
If you feel you are going nowhere with your life then the military can be a great place to build a foundation for your future. I have been enlisted for over ten years and I have little to complain about. MY education is paid for, I'm only a few credits from recieving my Bachelor's degree in Information Technology which the USAF has paid for 100%. I know I'm never going to get fired, I'll always have a roof over my head, and I'll always have food on the table for myself and my family. I work in a career field that is very lucrative in the civilian world and have trvelled the world. About the only gripe I have is the pay. Civilians doing what I am doing are paid almost triple what I make. I stay in because I enjoy the travel and being a part of something greater then myself. When I retire at 38 I will have immediate monthly retirement checks and lifetime medical benefits. I'm not trying to be a recruiter, I'm just telling you my situation. At the very least you could enlist for four years, enter a technical field like computers, earn your BS and get out with a degree and four years training in a specific field. A military honorable discharge also looks great on a resume. It shows you have disipline and commitment, employers like that.
I would recommend the Air Force as we have the best quality of life out of all the services. Sure being a grunt and doing pt all day may be fun to some, but for me, I enjoy some personal freedom and being treated like an adult (still love my sister services
