Sounds like it's either a HD, CPU, or MoBo problem (in order of likeliness). Could also be a ram or power supply problem.

If it's a new laptop - you should have it under warrenty? If it's not new, but not really old either - take it in and get it fixed. If it's old just do yourself a favor and get a new one
