Also, when I said status car, I didn't mean it didn't perform, Lambo's are GREAT status cars regardless of their performance.

Finally, the '06 Z06 does beat the Gay-ardo in performance without a doubt. Hell it beats its bigger brother the Murc...

For $70,000 its without a doubt the absolute best performance car per dollar... There isn't a single arguement that can prove otherwise.
Glad you clarified your comments Marc, and you're right the Z06 is a great performance bargain. But that's all it is. And I'm sure I don't need to tell you that any Lambo owner can easily buy a Z06 on a whim if he feels like it...yet none I know personally (over 100) have put a deposit down on a Z06. Not one.

Why is that do you think?

Because it's not all about speed. And it's not all about "status" either, as I'm sure your rebuttal would be quick to mention. To some the Gallardo offers "enough" performance, and looks the best to them. Part of owning an exotic is enjoying what it looks like, its shape. They become rolling works of art to their owners. No Vette is rolling work of art, though the C6 does look much improved over the C5.

Different strokes for different folks. I have a buddy who's having his Gallardo buffed up via twin turbos from Jason Heffner's shop (popular Viper tuner), and I'm sure he won't be too worried about any Z06 being faster than his car.

Different strokes for different folks.
