I came here in 1998 at age 21 lost in the heady dreamworld of love. We got married, moved back to England for 3 months and then moved back to Canada cos my new family just couldn't take the air there (step-daughter developed wickedly bad asthma after attending the local school where they still used coal for fuel)
Even if I hadn't arrived that way, I'm fairly sure I would've ended up on this continent anyway - my mother was born and raised in Canada and I always had a strong desire to come over to Canada or the USA and see what I could make for myself here. I just got here faster than I figured I would.
