when in amsterdam I had a friend stay at my house.

one night someone strolls by his guest room window - it's private and on the walkway to the front door - at 3am on a weekday - he gets up and opens the window and asks the guy what he's doing - get this - the guy bends over and says he's tying his shoes. My friend flies to the front door - he's a bit of a fighter and he was DYING to give this smuck a beating - the guy takes off. I'm guessing he was sizing up the place to break in (ok, i also have a killer alarm system) - and got the shit scared out of him.

has anyone here ever had someone break in while home?
