I agree, it is upsetting.
Peering into people's bedrooms or sexual habits isn't going to win friends with most Americans.
The irony is that we Republicans are supposed to be market driven! If the public wants to buy adult entertainment, why not let them choose?
The ideal solution would be to somehow get rid of the religious right component of the Republican party. Isolate them, or cause them to form a separate party and get them to sail off in their own ship (which would probably sink at some point).
We really need more social moderates to join the Republican party.
