Think of it this way, let?s say that you are in a club and all these cure girls walk by you. You don?t do anything. Say that they all started talking to you, would you be interested? Of course
The point is that you never know until you try. She might think that she would hook up with you, if the opportunity arises.
There is nothing to lose by trying, so what if you get shot down?
That is like declining an offer to participate in a game show where you might win 10K

Might want to think about your reputation if you're seen talking to a different girl every 15 minutes. Especially if you're from a small town and people know each other.
