Maybe this is old news, but I didn't know about this.

I use GAIM and I added some ICQ people to my list. When I switched back to AIM to send a file to an AIM member, I noticed those ICQ people on my list.

All you have to do is add a buddy and just use the ICQ number.

ICQ only allows number names, AIM buddys cannot only use numbers. That is how it deterines what it is.
