i had tubes in my ears too, but i was a water baby so i couldn't stay out of pools. ended up losing both (at different times) from swimming. my left ear drum is all fucked up now. i can hear fine, dont get me wrong, but if someone is yelling or clapping too loud, my ear drum vibrates really bad & i have to plug my ear with my finger till the sound is gone. but loud concerts & things at that high of volume doesnt bother me..weird.
anyways, i didnt feel any pain when i woke up either. they gave me some cool bubble-gum flavored gas (i got to pick the flavor) and out I went. woke up and was fine.
