That being said, I am actually quite anal about providing a well-balanced, healthy unch for them every day. Whole grain breads, fruits and veggies, dairy, protein, little sugar. Plus, I bake a lot rather than buy cookies etc with all the preservatives and crap in commerciall produced food. I dolieve in not allowing pop and candy machines in schools, and I think school cafeterias should have healthy food options for children.
What about increasing the education about nutrition to both the children and their parents? That is far more effective, in the long term, than controlling what children take to school for lunch.

The ban is on the sale of "junk food". You can still send your kid to school with a Ho Ho if you wish.
