I disagree with this wholeheartedly. Unless you are going to supply my child's lunch in some state-funded lunch program, you can not tell me what I can and can not feed my child.
That being said, I am actually quite anal about providing a well-balanced, healthy unch for them every day. Whole grain breads, fruits and veggies, dairy, protein, little sugar. Plus, I bake a lot rather than buy cookies etc with all the preservatives and crap in commerciall produced food. I dolieve in not allowing pop and candy machines in schools, and I think school cafeterias should have healthy food options for children.
What about increasing the education about nutrition to both the children and their parents? That is far more effective, in the long term, than controlling what children take to school for lunch.
