That started years back when only the "approved countries" - (read "us"), were allowed by the "us committee" that "they" can't have nukes.
But.. in the middle, there is a vicious war between "us" to sell as much arms as possible to "them" - but not to sell em nukes, - cos it's bad for "them".
It's ironic that there are weapons inspections on "their" countries while others (read "us" again), - especially those who have more fucking nukes than anyone, - are excluded from inspections, but the first in line to whine like hell about "them".
Instablilty of a nation is, no doubt, a reason for no nukes, - but ya wonder who is stable with good judgement and who not?? There sure is little evidence of it around!
