Yet pumping iron builds muscle an muscle needs lots of calories to burn to keep rolling. That's why bodybuilders can put on like 20lbs during off season and then burn it up fast for competition.
I remember I didn't have any fat from the age of 12 to 32. Now I should weigh 400lbs with all the food I eat but I can't get that large. My body won't let it go that far. Just a failsafe I guess.
Gotta cut the bad calories for sure.

I've been big my whole life. Raised on bad food and have a fairly slow metabilism. My brother has always been able to eat anything he wants and not gain weight, I was just the opposite. Then when I went into full time webmastering about 4 years ago I really packed on the pounds not doing anything but sitting in front of a computer for 14 hours a day.
I lift weights 3 days a week and do cardio exercise 1-2 days a week and I adopted a strict vegan diet. No meat, no dairy, no sugar, caffeine or booze ( about once a month though I cheat a little and have one or more of those things ) I've never suffered hunger pains because I eat a lot, it's just low calorie food, fruits and veggies and stuff and the weight has just dropped off. I can't belive how much better I feel now as compared to a year ago.
