Hell yeh, it was a monster fuckup on sooooo many levels, local and federal.
Did you see that Bill Maher show the other night, where he goes to mention all the shit we've lost during George's terms? Was a riot, went something along the lines of "We've lost almost all of our allies, 4 airlines, the surplus, 2 trade centers, and the city of New Orleans.....maybe you're just not LUCKY!"

And yes, the rebuilding of NO is a contractor's 'wet' dream (pardon the pun). Hopefully a lot of locals get in on that action, would be good for their economy to help shit get moving again.
But the chances of that happening are, well, probably not so good.
