I used to live in Belfast and I remember walking home from work one evening during July.

I passed this street and all you could see was burning tyres, smoke, petrol bombs and hundreds of soldiers and police in full riot gear firing plastic bullets into the crowds.

Then I looked across the road and saw two Japanese tourists standing there taking photos... and I just burst out laughing... it was the most surreal thing I've seen in my life.
