A decent 1 bedroom furnished apartment will cost you at least $1600 USD a month in Amsterdam. $2000 a month for very nice. $2500 a month for excellent.

Cars and gas are expensive, and there's nowhere to park, but if you live in a city you can usually walk anywhere in under 20 minutes. You can easily rent a car for $50 USD a day for road trips.

Any dairy foods are very cheap, but anything like coke or sprite is very expensive.
