The rememberance of it will always be sad, but there are however many things to be happy and thankful for on this day as well.
Same with days like Dec. 7th (Pearl Harbor), D Day, etc. A lot of good people died on those days too, and although all such days are forever marked with sorrow, they are also associated with positives as well.
Sept. 11th should be no different.
