I agree that lightly smacking a dog doesnt constitute abuse. Just like there is a difference in spanking your child, and beating your child. What i am saying is that you gotta know how to punish the dog in a way that it understands.... Do this, and you will have an amazingly obedient dog in no time.... trust me. please, for the dogs sake.
When I go out and leave my dog alone, he is destructive. Goes into bedrooms and eats shit, tears it up. When I come home, he cowers as soon as I walk in the door. I take him to what he's destroyed, yell "Who done this" and then hit him (not smash him, just hit him on the rear leg) I believe he knows why he is being hurt. But then again, he keeps doing it so maybe not.

This is why I have this woman coming, to stop all this shit. He's cost me an easy $1500 this summer in shit he's destroyed. Mainly bed clothing, my shoes and trainers and stuff like that. But I'm gonna talk to her about what you said. This woman is fully qualified in this shit, she works miracles so I'm told. I got references and some of the things some people told me would make my dog look like an angel.
