This is a universally submissive position for a dog to be in. when the dog stops fighting you and looks away, you may let him up. That will be your signal that the dog has recognized you as the dominant pack leader. BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN HURTIN IT WHEN YOU DO THIS. YOU cant blame the dog for doing what it did. It was only acting as its survival instincts told it to. ACTUALLY, it's your fault for not knowing how to properly train your dog........ nice move.
