I will be the first to admit (unless Paul beats me to it) that games WILL NOT produce signups. I don't think anyone selling games will say that. It would be foolish to say.
However, as far as retention goes. That's another story. Games are a nice add on feature that will keep members at your site longer that a quick fix of porn will. Anyone paying for a membership to your site, is going to take full advantage of what you have to offer. If all you have is pics and video, once your member is "done" he will find somewhere else to go. God forbid he stumbles across another site that he finds more interesting than your.
When you have a product like games on your site, once your member is "done" he can STAY at your site and play some games. If he likes a game enough, he may return just to play that game again. At YOUR site, because he knows that's where it is.
I further believe that multiplayer games are the new wave. This is why we produced "Fornicator". Your members can interact with others and actually make acquaintances that they might not make somewhere else. We have logs that show people setting up times to come back and play with people that they had a particularly fun time playing with.
We are currently in the process of producing 3 more multiplayer games, because we recognize the trends of this very demanding industry. That is not to say one player games will ever become obsolete. Quite the contrary. It is yet another choice that you offer to your members.
So, will it help with signups? Highly unlikely.
Will it help with retention? Well, there must be a demand for them, based solely on the number of suppliers. So someone is using them.
