I tend to think fossil fuel energy companies will be the best placed to make money on the transition to new energy sources after they've drained every last drop of oil out of the earth. It's not going to be some environmentally conscious solar energy bunch that take over. The current goons will just be peddling clean energy, for one they're already investing, and secondly they've got the trillions to blow any one else out of the water.
