I just bought a new VW Golf TDI (turbo diesel) after doing a lot of research on where gas prices were going. Diesels these days burn a lot cleaner and are a lot less noisy than in the past, and with the turbo slapped on the car it makes up for the slow pick up that a straight up diesel would have. Bad smell, you hardly even notice it...

What about diesel prices? I just filled up this morning $2.89 a gallon, whereas regular 87 was $3.29. On top of that I get 50 MPG and 500 - 600 miles on one tank of fuel. That also means I have to fill up once for every two times a normal gas powered car would fil up..

anyway VW seems to be the leader in developing diesel automobiles, if you think gas prices will stay up might be a good idea to buy VW stock as diesel sales may be strong until hybrids really catch on in say 5 yrs or so
