As to your second response, WWi has nothing to do with this conflict. In WWi they were several standing armies fighting at the regimental and divisional levels. This is a stalemate which shouldn't happen. The US should be too advanced for this to happen.

It means we are undermanned and unwanted. It means the insurgents have learned how to fight us effectively.
you idiot. there is no stalemate. especially not in a military sense. the insurgents hide amongst civilians and in mosques in hopes of luring an attack on innocents to increase civilian frustration. because the usa is not the monsters that the insurgents are, they do not attack these mosques and do what they can to avoid injuring innocent human shields the insurgents use. that is hardly a stalemate.
