I've seen the giant ones from S. America. 11-12 inches long.

I'm sure there are some bigger but this website features all the real big ass spiders on Earth and in the sea.

Spiders catch everything from bugs, worms, lizards, fish and birds.

I'm sure a chipmunk and squirrel or two have been on the menu.
