well, a majority of the people (that werent elderly and/or disabled) that stayed behind to weather the storm (either by choice or because they had no finances to go anywhere else), are mostly black people. Yes, they were shown on tv stealing boxes of Nike shoes, tv's, shopping carts FULL of stuff from Walmart, etc BUT, they did also show white people looting too. I dont know if white people were stealing tvs or not, but they were shown breaking into stores & stealing food (and im sure some stole unneccessary things as well).
so when people say that the media is only showing or mostly showing black looters, i think well, 90% of the people left down there are black. i dont believe it to be a racist thing. HOWEVER, i do think how the media call white people "finding" food & black people "stealing" it is fucked up.
just me 2 cents anyways.
