I got a horrible kidney infection in Mexico a couple of years ago and was convinced I was going to die and have to be shipped back in a box, lol. I was really worried that I was going to have to see some 19 year old Mexican kid claiming to be an MD and wanting to do a pelvic exam on me.
Luckily, I got a doctor that had trained at Miami, but a concierge told me that I might even "luck out" and get to see Dr. So-and-so, from
Cuba. I said, "I guess that's bad, right?" She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "No! Always try to get a Cuban trained doctor." That was news to me.
