Republicans were itching to impeach Clinton over personal indiscrete oral sex in the oval office. What kind of high crime or treason was that? Oh wait, it was because he lied about it, not the dirty deed itself.
Let's see then, what has George Dubya lied about...hmmm, there are so many to choose from, but let's go with the undeniable most obvious - the WMD as the main reason for going to war with Iraq, which has in turn led to chaos in the Middle East and nearly 2,000 dead Americans? The stain of that lie is blood red and much more evil than the stain on Monica's blue dress. Yet Bush's supporters scream "stay the course".
Bush, Cheney et al have never come clean about Enron, Haliburton, the Valerie Plame incident or the way the oil industry has been enriched while unemployment and the national deficit have soared to new heights. But we're still just supposed to stay the course?!?
The first five days in New Orleans and Mississippi are almost a microcosm of the first five years of Dubya's presidency. An unmitigated disaster.
