I didn't voice my opinion on which is better but I am certain that he will be criticized either way. It happens during nearly every natural disaster. Same thing happened during Andrew.
If you know your history you will recognize this as the hallmark of democracy.
Nearly 2500 years ago in ancient Athens the Athenian navy defeated the Spartan fleet. The athenian generals - though victorious - failed to save many of the crewmen from drowning. When they returned the generals, instead of receiving a hero's welcome for winning the battle were placed on trial and executed for not saving the naval crews from drowning. This is the nature of Democracy.
We citizens should remember to also recognize the good. Drop the senseless politics. It's petty. It would also be good to discuss how many people's lives have been saved instead of focusing on imperfections. There are tens of thousands of people being rescued. Many thousands of people owe their lives to evacuation warnings and plans. The western way is pretty good but it is not flawless.
