" News on the area where WT & Osiris are...
Alright, so after reading through 48 pages of information on the St Tammany Parish area, and looking at a WWLTV update on that particular parish where the president updated on the cities & didn't include Hammond, I double checked with XxXotic on what parish it is in... now I can read through the proper Parish updates... lol

Here's some quotes from the forum that the news website put up, these are quotes from people who are not in Hammond but have managed to make contact with people -inside- the area & have received info about the area that News reporters can't obtain... (Although I'm not sure how large the area is or how many trees surround Osiris's house)

"My family is right outside Hammond, and it seemed to be much less severe than what we're seeing in New Orleans, etc. The max sustained winds were supposed to be less than 100 mph by the time the storm got that far north, and though the phones are not up right now, when I spoke with them earlier today, they were doing Ok - no electricity, of course, but Hammond is a much better place to be at a time like this than closer to the Lake or New Orleans, etc. I'll post if I hear anything more."

"Just talked to my brother (via his cell phone) in Hammond and they have power back. Pretty much all the trees are down, including a large one on his truck, but otherwise things are OK. He indicates that roads are a mess, but no significant flooding."

"Just talked to friend of mine, who is in Hammond. She said there were many trees down, no power, and no phones, She also said her house on Overmeier Rd was ok. I will try to call her to get a report on middle of town and about 2 miles north of town"

"I just spoke with my brother on his cell. My parents live on Hillary Simmons which is off of 1054. He said there are a lot of trees down and phone lines were cut this morning. Electricity is also out. They worked til 9 PM last night to clear the roads so they could make it to I 55 . No casualties are reported as of yet."

"Reports are this: Hammond is OK. Some damage from falling trees but no one is aware of anything serious. One of the group made her way to her house in Madisonville and business in Covington, and found basically the same thing. A lot of fallen trees, some damage from that, but no flooding in those communities."

"to everyone inquiring about Hammond

I live in Lounge Leaf subdivision off of Pecan stree. There are many trees down and many homes with damage. We have not heard of anyone getting injured or worse. They say we will be out of power for 1-3 weeks or longer. There are no businesses open and cell phone service is out."

"I have been told from a friend in Hammond water is fine there. Entergy has told customers in Hammond 1 week for power to be returned. I-55 is said to be open to at least Hammond."

Only 8 pages of people making questions/comments on that area, but it sounds more positive than my mind was imagining "not" knowing.."
