I don't think it's quite the same. It's more like if McDonalds had a message board inside for people to post their comments on and I posted a guide about making the best hamburgers. Surely someone could use this guide to start a new burger joint, but they could easilly do it without it. Same way, if someone wanted to start a new eraser software, they could easilly find a programmer to do it for them.
Also, do people actually want prices, promotions, and free stuff? Do you really want that car? or would you rather have better conversions or make more money per sale?
Eraser cash sells for $100 and they give $45/sale. I could offer software with the same and additional features for 80%+ profit going to the webmaster. Which program would you rather promote then? $45 per sale, plus a chance to win a car or $80/sale and no car. Or perhaps coversions might be higher if the program sells for $50 instead of $100? With some clever software I could even pay webmasters to promote software that's given away for free [ that might piss quite a few people off so it's not seriously considered yet ]
