My thoughts on post hurricaine looting

I was listening to a conservative radio talk show this morning and was troubled by some of the almost racist comments from the host and audience. On the surface I understand the ease to blame the poor for "taking advantage of the situation" but people should also thinking about the following:

Everyone was ordered to evacuate. Those that stayed were those that either didn't have the financial or physical means. It is the government's responsibility to protect these people. The governmant failed. Left with 5-20 feet of poluted water, no electricity, no food or potable water, what is a person supposed to do in order to stay alive?

People seem to easy to blame "those poor minority folks."

Please contribute to the Red Cross.
