I tend to side with the players...
the owners are the ones signing these high priced deals and then complaining...if they just said "this is as high as we go" and stick to it, then they wouldn't have the problems..I think Bud Selig is a cancer..and not the cute kind, but the kind as cancer that starts at your tongue and burrows through to your asshole...he has killed the great sport of baseball...
I'll defend high salaries due to the fact the best should be paid the best...anyone whining about them making too much is just jealous...fuck, if I had the skills to play on a professional level, I'd be back on the field in a heartbeat...
A big deal was made of A Rod making $25 million per year in texas, but he's produced amazing numbers AND put asses in seats...think he was worth it? well, if he wasn't playing for Texas which has sucked dog's ass the last 3 years, there would be absolutely no one in the stands in Arlington right now....
The powers that be killed baseball in Montreal...no one will go see them team even though they are contending because MLB cut back on local television broadcasts, local coverage and other problems (there is currently a lawsuit happening from a former owner alleging the misdeeds). What's a real pisser is that every year Bud Selig pleads poverty for baseball, yet they raise the price of owning a franchise and even a shiity team can sell for a handsome profit.
Wayne Herzigna bought his fucking World Series then dumped the Marlins and screwed everyone oevr and made a tidy profit on the sale of the team....
The Minnesota Twins was the target of contraction and yet they are in first in their division while Bud Selig's own team, thw Milwakee Brewers have one of the worst etams in baseball and haven't fielded an exciting team since the early 80's.
Hmmm, a team owner is commissioner of baseball (and of coutrse this was voted on by other etam owenrs) Isn't thata blatant conflict of interestes? Sure his daughter "oversees" the team, but ButtFuck Selig still calls the shots....and even went so far as to blackmail the city into getting hima brand new stadium...and I won't even go into the fiasco of the All Star Game...
Billionaire owners and millionaire players fighting voer stupid shit and destroying the game I love...not sure if I can really even take the side of the Players lately....
