I had been stationed there for 14mos prior to Andrew and knew US1 like the back of my hand, when I drove back down there after it hit, I was completely lost trying to find my apartment downtown. Strangest feeling in the world to be LOST on a road you'd spent 100s of hours driving on over the past year...

This is not looking good for New Orleans and for the rest of the ecomony.

1) Housing market going south
2) Oil prices through the roof (add this cities destruction & impact on oil and industry at large)
3) Continued siffoning of resources to Iraq, war on terrorism, etc...yada yada
--escalation in Iran possible
4) Serious potential for the bird flu to jump out of the box within the next 1-5 years or sooner



I know it's looking very 'gloomy & doomy'



So today I'll focus on & try to figure out where the silver linings are, they gotta be in there somewhere...
