There seems to be some confusion about where CamUp fits in the industry. CamUp is not designed to compete with or replace a pay-per-view camgirl type solution, CamUp is a community webcam solution that allows member-to-member webcamming.
PPV camgirl solutions are great where you have a series of models who put on 'shows' for one or a few surfers, and now there are a few of these solutions where the surfer can cam back per say. But essentially this is a one-to-one solution and doesn't develop or enhance your sites surfer 'community'. CamUp by contrast is designed to provide a surfer-to-surfer webcam solution and foster greater community depth.
How does CamUp then differ from other webcam solutions like Yahoo, MSN etc ?
This is one of the fundamental differences with our technology, CamUp is a server / hub based solution webcam solution. Yahoo, MSN etc. are based on a peer-to-peer technology which has two fundamental problems. First is the cultural / community issue of having to 'know' someone before you can see / share a webcam session, this inhibits the ability for people to meet new people. Secondly the technology is fundamentally limited by the weakest link in the network and after half a dozen webcam viewers the end users experience suffers. CamUp's technology allows for virtually unlimited webcam viewers and each viewer gets the best possible experience their connectivity can provide.
