My father passed on 6 years ago, I have hardly ANY pictures of him because he hated having his pic taken. The ones I have I treasure greatly because they help me when I'm feeling blue or missing him a lot. Also, as time passes images fade (in my mind anyways) and it's good to be able to look and remember more precisely the shape of my father's nose and the way his eyes crinkled when he laughed or smiled. Yes I have the memories, but the pictures give me something that makes it more powerful.
I don't have enough pictures from the last few years of my life, and LOTS has changed I wish I had more. Metaman, I agree, procrastination is easy on things like this
but with digital cameras being SOOOO easy to use for simple taking and storing of pictures it makes it a much less complicated prospect to get equipped with a functional camera. (I recently got one but my St Bernard chewed it up LOL
)
Like Shortbread says, they're so compact and easy to use nowadays, and the best part is you don't have to think about taking the film into the camerashop, getting it developed and then having to go pick up the pictures. Just plug in, upload and there you have it!
