Huh? Don't know about your country, but in the USA, we have a Bill of Rights and a Constitution which ennumerates our "birthrights". The right of being protected isn't one of the truths we hold to be self-evident.
Of course, that only solidifies the argument that people should indeed be able to protect themselves and their property.
