Big dish programming is ordered ala carte... you order a quarter, half-year or full year (for example) of HBO and they don't renew you if you don't respond to their renewal. I have more crap available than I could ever watch, I have an mpeg receiver slaved to a 4DTV receiver giving me at minimum 2000 feeds and I spend a great time of my TV time exploring that, but movies I generally catch in theater or on DVD. Much like I only bought Showtime during QAF season, I buy HBO when Bill's on. Other than that I have too much other stuff I'm checking out
I'll watch an HBO show or two just because I have the digital package.
