I'm a huge SW and LotR fan myself but I think it's beyond question that Episode I+II were very disappointing compared to IV-VI.
On the other I feared that LotR would be really bad and I was really much positively surprised how good it was produced. However there were some minor flaws in it and I really hoped for Tom Bombadil to appear.
August 6 is the release date for LotR
