Sure if you're emailing your own past members....but if the list is for sale then it's probably been sold SEVERAL times, which makes it worth much less
Plus with CAN SPAM you're allowed to mail people you have a business relationship with (former members) but if you buy a list then you have to follow CAN SPAM rules....much less effective mailing.
