heres a breakdown on the seals..
150 years ago there was 9 million seals..
We hunted them at various times and brought that number down to about 3 million.
Now in the less than the last 1/3 of that time period , seal population has DOUBLED to about 6 million.
So the populaion is rebounding faster than we depleted it.. That means because of the no competition , seals are eating fish that we eat , and depleting them . But those fish ( because we fish them ) wont rebound like the seals do , because the combined depletion is too much..
We need to control the seal population to keep fish around.. ( or stop fishing ;) )
