China - with their huge army - has been rather friendly torwards everyone and isn't about to start anything. They have the right idea - They just want to get along with everyone, be friends, trade, and make nice. Besides, if they were to go to war with the US their economy would go straight down the shitter since we buy most of their products.

The Middle East? The Middle East is really a loose collection of powerless states. Isreal took most of them out in one day in 1967.
