I went to L'escala. It's just over the border with France, on the east. Around 150/200KM above barcelona. It only took 4 minutes to reach the beach by feet.
Also went to Figueres to visit the Dali Museum. For the rest, beach, small cities, mountains, and 2 days Barcalona.
