Strange. Everything *I* have seen from C.S. Lewis has been nothing but judeo-christian allegory. It's extremely difficult to "start out as an athiest" in this society, so ubiquitously saturated with god detrius. Far more likely he was a closet christian all the time, and decided to 'come out'. And make money at the same time.

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of staunch irish protestants are 'athiests'.
