For fast passed action plasmas are a lot better and the colors are a lot more close to the crt tv's. And what they say about plasmas life is no longer true, the half life of a plasma is about 6 years and then it can still be used as a descent basement TV. I mean most of TV's now have about a 5 year life span. Also plasmas have an a lot bigger viewing angle. Go for Pioneer or LG . MYself I have an LG and had no problems with it. And yeah burnt pixels are only caused by shock that means if you never hit the screen itself pixels will not burn
