I'd love an Alienware, VoodooPC, Falcon NW notebook. That toshiba 3.46 weighs 10 pounds. I bet it burns through batteries, but is a great desktop replacement (not too mobile).
It just depends on what you want. Do you want something that's heavy, has poor battery life but works like a desktop, or something that's lighter, has longer battery life but also not as savage as a full-blown desktop machine? Once you figure that out here's your factors:
Desktop replacement = cost + as close to desktop performance parts as possible. Weight, size, screen size / rez and battery life are moot.
Mobile = cost + screen size + battery life + performance + weight + other stuff I'm not thinking about.
