Says who? I have a lot of trouble believing this. Fact is, I don't think they have a right to go through anything in this situation. It was their job to recover the computer because it was stolen. They did that. It is NOT their automatic right to then go snooping through your personal files and stuff. That's the kind of shit that Nazis do, not supposedly honest cops.
This cop is looking for a pat on the back from his superiors and of course Joe public, by *cracking* a big child porn case.... even if that case doesn't exist.
I stand by it. They are assholes. In this case the *search* should be fucking illegal, that cop should be suspended without pay.
