The problem with the Atkins diet is not the diet at all, it's the people who do it half-assed. My sister was all bragging to everyone about how she was on this diet and was gonna lose all this weight (she's a fad-o-holic who jumps on every bandwagon she can). So she bought the books and all the pre-packaged stuff, would eat a pound of bacon and a bag of pork rinds in one sitting and wonder why the diet wasn't working.
She ended up scrapping that, eating better meals and working out and lost a whole bunch of weight and looks fabulous now.
Also, the diet itself works well if you follow it, but buying all that pre-packaged crap is also the downfall of it. The point is to eat real food and cut out the carbs and sugar. But the bars and meals all have so many chemicals in there that you keep eating more than you should. It's a trick of the diet companies. They help you lose weight but keep you on the verge of not being able to lose it all so that you will keep buying their crap.
