I was at a celebration I guess would be the best way to put it in a neighboring town last weekend, and there were these people who apparently have some hang out, or club, or something where they dress up in midevil lore gear, joust, and so forth on weekends.
They go so far as cooking, and acting out such things, and apparently have festivals, and so on. I've met people online (not in RL, just for convo) who are also into this, and have photo albums of this stuff from their gatherings. Making chainmail, and all of it.
Are any of you into this stuff, or been to these things? I like EQ and all, for some of the lore about such things, but I think it's a bit extreme in RL. I remember playing EQ before the game dropped off, and some of the same X-Files beardies were into it as much online, as some of the people I have saw, and met who are dressing, and acting like it.
I guess my main question would be, what's the attraction to it?
