And what happens if the perps are a couple white guys from Oklahoma? Do you nuke OK city, Tulsa and maybe Lawton "just to be sure"? Don't claim it couldn't happen... It already has.
No, what'll happen in ANY of these situations is that a random enemy only tangentally related to the perps (if at all) will be declared and summarily executed for no reason greater than to make people feel better, most likely brown people as they seem to be the cathartic slaughter targets of choice lately. Which, of course, would feed the goal of a terrorist very well... what better way to get the world pissed off with the US than drawing the reactionary assholes in the administration (or at least the ones left over) into an ill-advised 'retaliation' against a population totally innocent of any involvement? The recruitment posters pretty much write themselves.
