For about $40,000 US, you can get a Nissan Skyline R32 gtr... Granted, that's basically ass rape considering I could buy one here for under 15... The way I see it, if you're worried about impressing your golfing buddies, buy a Porsche or a Ferrari. If you want a car that will stay under the radar, something that women wont fall over you for, but something that with just a few grand in modifications could easily rape said Ferrari or Porsche, then a GTR would be my best recommendation. And of course, it's right hand drive, so people will gawk as you drive by
However, I'm extremely biased, and don't see the point in mixing luxury with performance. Why build a BMW with a monster engine if you're going to make the thing weigh more than a tank?
Power to weight is one of the biggest things to look at when buying a performance car. When driving a lightweight car, you can feel it's lightness. When driving a heavyweight car, you can feel it's weight.. It makes it feel less sporty and more bulky, at least from my experiences.
So what's lightweight, rear wheel drive, moderatly powered, and something woman will give you a handjob over? Lotus elise

190 hp Toyota Celica motor, with a nice, high redline. Not the most torque in the world, but more than enough for such a light car. When push comes to shove, nothing will outhandle a car like an elise, or an s2000, or any other lightweight rwd sports car. If you want straight line grunt, buy something with a huge engine and tank like handling. From my experience however, that's just no fun
